Specific terms and conditions do change from time to time, so please consider these a guide to get pointed in the right direction. They are not by any means a complete set of instructions for obtaining a grant.
Note that none of these programs are exclusive, and you may be able to qualify for more than one. The only exception may be the Wind Hazard Mitigation program which may be affected by CDBG.
At the moment, we cannot assist you in filling out the forms. This is because of the Florida Office of Financial Regulation rules regarding mortgages and mortgage paperwork. We are seeking an exemption for this and will advise if and when it becomes possible.
The most common qualification issues encountered during the CDBG program were title and deed problems. Occupancy is not sufficient; you must be able to show you are the legal owner of the real estate.
Update, July 10, 2014: The City of Oak Hill was not awarded funds under the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program this year.
City officials are now free to look for other grant money to assist with housing renovations.
