Solid Waste/Garbage: Must be containerized, bagged, bundled or tied. Must be within 5 feet of edge of pavement.
Yard Waste: No lengths longer than 4 feet. No widths/diameters more than 6 inches. Must be within 5 feet from curb or 10 feet from pavement.
Recycling: Two sort system. Newspaper, mixed office paper, aluminum and steel cans, phonebooks, junk mail, plastic containers coded 1,2,3, cereal/snack boxes without wax liners, glass bottles and cardboard.
The Volusia County Fire Services Station 22, 213 N. U.S. Hwy 1, Oak Hill has facilities for only accepting used motor oil.
Citizens needing to dispose of paint, fuel, pesticides, batteries or other types of hazardous materials besides motor oil are directed to the Volusia County Landfill, located at 1990 Tomoka Farms Road, Port Orange. Their local phone number is (386) 423-3300. If any hazardous material items with the exception of motor oil are left at the Oak Hill facility, it is illegal dumping and carries a $500 fine.
